The Fondazione Ranieri di Sorbello hosts part of collections of books, Archive material and Art collections of the Marquises Bourbon del Monte di Sorbello.
The Marquises’ fief was situated between Tuscany and the Upper Valley of the Tiber in Umbria.
During the 18th century the Bourbon di Sorbello family purchased the now called Palazzo Sorbello in Perugia.
In 1860 the Bourbon di Sorbello Marquises joined up, through marriage, with the Counts Ranieri. As a result the new family name became that of Marquises Ranieri di Sorbello.
