The papers initially preserved by the onorary president of the section, Professor Pietro Scarpellini have been deposited at the Fondazione Ranieri di Sorbello since 2004. The documents are a rich testimony of the activity carried out by the Association “Italia Nostra”’s Perugia section and consist of correspondences, press reviews, official statements, petiotions, subscriptions and detailed documents on various campaigns of environmental defense. It must be noted that Uguccione Ranieri di Sorbello was the first President of the Section, in 1959.
Italia Nostra and Fondazione Ranieri di Sorbello organized a congress and an exhibition to celebrate a half century of activity of the Perugian section (see: 1959-2009, cinquant’anni di Italia Nostra a Perugia. Atti del convegno, Perugia 2-3 ottobre 2009, Nuovi Quaderni di Italia Nostra 3).
